City of Wichita Announces Coronavirus Closures and Schedule Changes
To minimize the transmission risk associated with the Coronavirus (COVID-19), the Wichita City Council decided on March 16 to close a number of public facilities and to cancel City events. The Wichita Art Museum, a City-owned facility, will be closed Tuesday, March 17 through Friday, March 27. This closure includes the Muse Cafe and the Museum Store. The City will closely monitor the situation and will continue to make facility reopening adjustments as needed.
WAM has cancelled or postponed public museum events through Sunday, May 10 following the March 15 advisory from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC). The CDC recommended that, until Sunday, May 10, organizers (whether groups or individuals) cancel or postpone in-person events that consist of 50 people or more throughout the United States.
