Camp 1: Explore Textiles
Gain inspiration from the special exhibition Georgia O’Keeffe: Art, Image, Style and explore ideas of shape, texture and color. We will discover different fabrics to help you understand how to create your very own textile masterpiece. Be sure to wear easily washable clothes because this camp could get a little messy!
June 5, 6, 12, or 13
Camp 2: Explore Portraits
Get ready to use historical photographs, magazines, and other found-objects to create a unique collage. This camp will draw inspiration from the photographs in the exhibition Dignity vs. Despair: Dorothea Lange and Depression-Era Photography, 1933-1942 and paintings from the exhibition Hung Liu: Migrant Stories.
June 19, 20, 26, or 27
Camp 3: Explore 3D Design
Focusing on how people physically build and draw various objects, campers will work to build something they can use at home or something abstract. The opportunities are endless when you are working with the principles of design.
July 10, 11, 17, or 18
Camp 4: Explore Sculpture
Campers will explore sculpture from WAM’s permanent collection to brainstorm ideas and create their very own piece. Sculptures big and small will encourage the use of big ideas for a one-of-a-kind project. Air-dry clay will be used so that the masterpiece is able to travel home on the same day.
July 24, 25, 31, or August 1
